Disposal Guide
What Can You Put in a Dumpster?
The simple guide to what goes in your Cincinnati roll-off dumpster - and what has to stay out. When in doubt, call us first.
The Short Answer
Most Everyday Waste Is Welcome
If you can lift it, it likely goes in. Household junk, renovation debris, roofing materials and yard waste are all accepted in your dumpster. The golden rules: keep it level with the top rail, don't load hazardous items, and tell us about anything unusually heavy.
Three quick rules before you load:
- Keep debris level with the top rail - no overfilling
- Mix heavy items (tile, concrete) with lighter debris
- Call first for shingles, concrete, dirt or appliances
Accepted Items
Yes - These All Go In
The everyday items we haul away every single week across Greater Cincinnati.
Household Junk
Furniture, mattresses, boxes, clothes, toys, rugs, curtains and general garage and basement clutter.
Renovation Debris
Drywall, studs, doors, windows, carpet, flooring, cabinets, tubs and bathroom fixtures of every kind.
Construction & Roofing
Lumber, shingles, underlayment, siding, metal, rebar and demolition rubble - with weight planned ahead.
Yard Waste & Appliances
Brush, limbs, leaves, fence boards, plus most appliances and small electronics - refrigerators with advance notice.
Banned Items
No - These Must Stay Out
These materials are dangerous, highly regulated or can't be processed in standard landfill disposal. Loading them risks fines, safety hazards and extra charges - keep them out of the bin:
- Paints, solvents, stains & chemicals
- Gas cans, propane tanks & motor oil
- Asbestos, batteries & fluorescent tubes
- Tires, medical waste & infectious materials

Special Cases
It Depends... Call Us First
These items are usually fine - but rules and weight change how we handle them. A 30-second call lets us plan it right.
Can I put concrete, brick or asphalt in a dumpster?
Yes. Concrete, brick and asphalt are accepted when you tell us ahead of time - they're roughly 10 times heavier than household trash, so we plan your weight allowance at booking.
What about dirt, sod and yard fill?
Clean fill like dirt and sod is accepted with advance notice for weight planning. We can also estimate how many loads of fill your bin will hold for landscaping projects.
Can I put appliances in a dumpster?
Mostly yes. Washers, dryers, stoves and dishwashers are fine. Refrigerators and freezers containing Freon need advance notice and in some cases professional draining first.
Are electronics allowed?
Small household electronics like televisions, computers and printers are generally accepted with your regular debris. For large office roll-outs, ask us about dedicated e-waste handling.
Can I load heavy shingles in a dumpster?
Yes - roofing tear-offs are a weekly job for us. Tell us it's a shingle load when you order and we'll size both the bin and the weight allowance for roofing debris.
